question on black mold removal regulations concerning senior housing?
I am wondering what the laws are on the removal of black mold from a structure, specifically a senior housing apartment complex. Is it legal to repair infected areas with the residents there still?
i know in new orleans after the severe flooding residents had to vacate to fumigate and remove all the mold accruded. if it is a little bit of mold removal u should not be in the unit when they perform this work. if its extensive you shoudl not be there bc its creates ailments in the air that can be an affect on your health. when people remove mold they usually wear masks and suits to protect themselves. so legally speaking im not sure but morally yes tenants should be vacated when they remove mold.

Much depends on how extensive the mold infestation is. If it is minor, it is probably legal. If you have a huge mold infestation issue, you should consider vacating the premises as soon as possible for your own safety and health.
