They are soft, fluffy and love to cuddle on a cold night, and your child would love to have a puppy. Big eyes, pouts, smiles and tears – from the puppy that is – can soften your heart in not time at all.

Dogs are a baby and a best friend rolled into one. So it’s easy to forget that all pets are living beings. Before you burden your family with the extra responsibility and cost, think before you bring a dog home.

Are You Ready for the Responsibility?

Domestic animals like cats and dogs depend on their owners, just like a newborn baby, for food, shelter, exercise and of course love and attention. Leaving dogs alone at home for extended periods can make them frustrated, bored and agitated. They may bark constantly, or take their frustration out on your belongings. Shoes, pillows and even furniture can be the victims of an anxious dog.

Can You Really Afford a Dog?

Owning a dog may mean sacrificing savings or extra money for your family just to look after the dog properly. If you don’t have lots of disposable cash, think carefully before bringing a dog home.

It can cost hundreds of dollars to purchase an animal. This is just the initial expense of the transaction. Some of the expenses will be initial once-off costs. These include a crate or kennel, bowls, brushes,a leash and toys. Grooming products like shampoo will need to be replaced, but your biggest expense will be food. Depending on your choice of dog food, the bill can add up to several hundred dollars a year. Because pets don’t have health insurance, you will be responsible for their medical bills too. Dogs and cats need vaccinations, just like babies, spaying or neutering and of course other illness or injuries will need treatment from a veterinarian. More serious illnesses can quickly rack up huge vet bills too.

Before you take on the responsibility of owning a dog or cat, make sure you are willing to give the pet the loving care it will need. A dog will bring a lot of joy into your home, but a lot of time, work and money will be needed as well.

Dog Collars and Leashes: An Introduction

Dog Fleas: How To Prevent

The moment we start noticing that our dogs are scratching continuously and they seem to be bad-tempered throughout the day because of itchiness, there is a very big probability that our dogs are infected with dog fleas!

Christmas Isnt The Time For Pets

There are so many reasons why getting a dog could really work out for you but there also reasons why you should perhaps hold back on the purchase before you know for sure you can take care of it.

Why You Should Get A Dog

Dogs are of course very friendly to everyone if you bring them up in the right way, very comforting too. There is a good reason for families having dogs over cats and it is because they work better with a family than cats do. Cats can be very good pets indeed but when it coems to families they are sometiems a bit spiteful, however from kitten they can be brought up well.

One of the really good things about dogs is that if they are feeling a bit unwell they are still up for a game and they can cheer you up if your feeling down. The yare also very good pets if you have kids, if you do have kids I would certainly say it is best to get a puppy rather than a rescuse dog. Although it does sound a bit silly it takes a lot of trust between the owner and the dog to form that bond.

Why You Shouldn’t Get A Dog

With Christmas coming up it is never a good time to make the decision on getting a dog. More importantly you should never get a dog for someone for Christmas as more often than not they are taken back because they simply cannot find the time to take care of the animal.

A puppy is great but raising a dog is actually very hard work and can cost a lot of something goes wrong. This is where pet insurance can come into it. Of course you will have to teach it a lot of things from going to the loo outside and teaching it how to fetch and all of that nonsense.

So it isnt easy to do this but what did you expect, however you do get a cool friend out of it all!

The bad thing is that at first the dog could go around and pee on anything and everything! Best to get other insurances in place like the iphone insurance or perhaps the general gadget insurance.
